He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wayne and Estelle Marie Peak Elam; his spouse Myra Joan Logsdon; his siblings, Sue Gish and Dick Elam; and his son-in-law Eldon Winkelman.
He is survived by: his children, Jaye Elam Winkelman of Beardstown, John Elam (Mita) of Beardstown and Jason Elam (Amy) of Beardstown; his grandchildren, Jamie Comiskey (Terry), Drew Birdsley (Mallory), Jake Elam (Samantha), Audra, Hannah, Jack Elam and Elli Taylor; and his great grandchildren, Ella and Vera.
