Bertha Arlene Wankel Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bertha Arlene Wankel of Beardstown, Illinois, who passed away on April 17, 2023 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Hendricker and Mathilda Louise Hendricker (Krohe); her husband Ralph Wankel; and her siblings, Homer Hendricker, Irvin Hendricker, Ralph Hendricker, Lewis George Hendricker, Harold Allen Hendricker, Myrtle Carls, Rosa Edge, Ada Bennett, Mabel Hendricker, Phyllis Crocker and Vera Johnson.
She is survived by: her sons, Neal Wankel of Rushville, Mark Wankel (Natasha) of Owensville Indiana, David Wankel of Beardstown and Larry Wankel (Shelley) of New Baden; her grandchildren, Jordan Wankel (Rachel), Milady Griffin (Chad), Skyler Longbons (Richard), Heidy Wankel, Eden Wankel, Bradley Wankel (Emeley), Raylynn Sahm (Dan), Cassie Luna (Rolando), Chloe Wankel and Shannon Wankel; and her brother-in-law Calvin Johnson. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Bethel Community Church of the Nazarene.
