He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Wilbert Dietrich and Hilda Dietrich; his wife Willa; his children, Leigh Anne Dietrich (McInerney) and Phillip Andrew Dietrich; his grandchildren, John, Jordan McInerney, Anya McCurry and Zachary Dietrich; his sisters, Sue Houghton, Barbara and Louise; and his granddaughter Madelynn "Maddy" Nicole.
