Stephen Schmidt Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Stephen Schmidt of Batavia, Illinois, born in Berwyn, Illinois, who passed away on October 8, 2022 at the age of 62. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Stephen A. Schmidt; his niece Meghan Bowers; and his sister-in-law Peggy Nangia (Romi). He is survived by: his mother Hildegarde Schmidt; his wife Arlene; his children, Maggie Karns (Matt) of Batavia, Illinois, Chad Matthews of Chicago, Illinois, Yasmine Schmidt of Batavia, Illinois and Christopher Schmidt of Denver, Colorado.; his grandchildren, Owen Karns, Cameron Karns, Jordynn Cox, Wynnter Cox and Skylar Gibson; his sisters, Beth Schmidt (Doug Swartz), Deb Schmidt Rogers (Chris Rogers) and Ruth Schmidt (Kevin Zamzow); and his sister-in-law Maureen Bowers (Mike). He is also survived by six nephews and two nieces.
