He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Ekstrom and Ellen Ekstrom; his spouse Minette Catalano; and his sisters, Marion, Genevieve, Ellen Olive and Barbara.
He is survived by: his children, Dean (Denice), Robert, Mary Kielion (Rod), John (Brenda), Richard (Martha) and Thomas. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren.
