He was predeceased by: his parents, John Salis and Dorothy Salis (McDonald); his wife Virginia "Ginger" Salis; and his siblings, Robert Salis, Richard Salis and Jamie Salis.

He is survived by: his former wife Virginia Ellinghusen; his sons, Stephen Salis (Cindy) and Keith Salis (Emily); his grandchildren, Jacob Salis, Matthew Salis, Rachel Dietz (Rob), Anthony Salis (Lauren), Timothy Salis, Autumn Hernandez (José), Katherine Matranga (Nick), Charlotte Salis, Heather Salis and Natalie Salis; his great grandchildren, Summer Hernandez, Brissa Hernandez, Romeo Hernandez, Scarlett Hernandez, Amelia Dietz, Mason Matranga and Nevaeh Matranga; and his siblings, John Salis Jr., Tomas Salis (Carol), Darleen Flynn and Kathy Pearson.
