He was predeceased by: his niece Abigail Prissel. He is survived by: his wife Ashley G. Murtaugh; his sons, Gavin and Finn Murtaugh; his parents, Christopher Murtaugh and Nancy Murtaugh; his siblings, Jason Murtaugh and Alison LaFortune (Sean); his parents-in-law, Brian and Renee Prissel; and his siblings-in-law, Stephanie Prissel (Ross Dorwin), Chelsey Rademacher (Steven) and Thomas Prissel (Emily). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
