He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Calhoun and Betty Dabbs Calhoun. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Mangan-Nichols; his children, Brian and Amy Nguyen (Ed); his stepson Tim Nichols; and his siblings, Patrick, April Shufelt and Karen Calhoun. He is also survived by nephews, nieces and extended family and friends.

Cremation has been accorded and due to the COVID pandemic funeral/memorial services will be held at a later date.
