He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Hornung and Marion Hornung; and his wife Susan "Sue" Pfefflinger. He is survived by: his sister Pat Harris (Gary); and his nephews, Brian (Kim) of Aruba and Kevin (Danielle) of Peoria.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bartonville Lions Club or Bartonville American Legion.
