He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Scott and Mildred Scott (VanBuren); his wife Linda Hughes; his children, Kim Koch (Larry) of Peoria, Dr. Brian Hughes (Jodie) of Ironwood and Dr. Brad Hughes (Stephanie) of Rochester, Illinois; his sisters, Barbara Ramsey (Bruce) of Alanson and Patricia Hughes of Elmwood, Illinois; his grandchildren, Brandon Petrakis, Victoria Koch, Megan Hughes, Logan Hughes, Ian Hughes, Talon Hughes, Emma Hughes, Ethan Hughes and Aidan Hughes; and his great grandchildren, Ashlynn Petrakis and Alton Petrakis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Missionaries of Charity, through the family.
