He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur J. Schertz and Ferris I Schertz; and his brother Craig L. Schertz. He is survived by: his child Bruce; his spouse Sara Reed-Purvis; his children, Henry, Jack and Bronwyn Reed-Schertz; and his sisters, Diane Schertz of Rancho Cordova, CA, Nora Carroll (Pat) of Cape Coral, FL, Annette Abels and Denise Schertz (Jerry Elder). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
