He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Garvin and Norma Stahr Garvin; and his siblings, Sherry Louise Menn, Robert Garvin and Josephine Carter.

He is survived by: his wife Maureen Toole-Stevens; his daughters, Terri Barker and Terra Merriam (Barry); his stepchildren, Leah Monteleone (Mike) and Josh Stevens (Stacey); his grandchildren, Danielle, James, Marty, Larry, Nicole, Liberty and Jackson; and his siblings, Michael Garvin (Michelle), Christine Colby, Sandra Deibert (Dennis) and Pamela Schneider (John). He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to be made to the Pike County Senior Citizens Center or Blessing Hospice.
