He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Rosalie; his sisters, Rosalie Laketa (George), Anna Karacic and Mary Valentine; and his nephews, Samuel Laketa and Greg Karacic.

He is survived by: his wife Marian R. Fabsits; his children, John (Susan), Jim (Renata), Jeffrey (Rusty), Lisa and Jasper Sanfilippo (Laura); his grandchildren, Danielle, Allison, William, Nicholas Evon, Jasper, Johnny, Grace, Jaclyn, James, Enzo, Caroline, Tallon and Sanfilippo; his great grandchild Adelyne Weigele; his nieces and nephews, Rita, Rosalie, Joseph, Roseanne, Elaine, Michael, Mary Jo and Jim; and his brothers-in-law, Mathias Valentine and Thomas Karacic (Carmelita).
