She was predeceased by: her father Rev. Elmer W. M. Brewer; her husband Kenneth Gegel; her mother Martha Brewer; her parents-in-law, Otto and Anna Gegel; her son Brian (Jane Gegel); her grandson Austin Gegel; her siblings, Moselle Loeschen (Paul), Jennine Johnson (Charles) and David Brewer; and her sister-in-law Norma Wheatley.
She is survived by: her sons, Stan Gegel of Baldwin, IL and Mike Gegel (Tammy) of Wapakoneta, OH; her grandchildren, Jessica Gegel (Jon Markl) of Traverse City, MI, Josh Gegel of Minneapolis, MN, Tori Gegel of Dayton, OH, Salon Gegel (Edward Long) of Decatur, IL and Cedric Gegel (Sarah Fryman) of Bayonne, NJ; her siblings-in-law, Tom Wheatley (Leisa) of Waterloo, IL and Betty Root of Bainbridge Island, WA; her uncle-in-law Albert Guebert of Okawville, IL; and her niece Candace Juarez (Tim) of Lakewood, CO. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Eunice asked that people do acts of kindness for others. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, St. John Lutheran Ladies Aid, and the Sparta Community Chorus.
