It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rosemary Rakers (Aviston, Illinois), born in Belleville, Illinois, who passed away on April 19, 2020, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Schaefer and Helen Schaefer; her husband Fred G. Rakers; her sister Dorothy Habrock; her parents-in-law, Fred J. and Gertrude Rakers; and her sister-in-law Barbara Rakers.
She is survived by: her children, Jen Calloway (Brad) of Inman, SC, Chad Rakers (Laurie Klostermann) of Breese, IL and Erin Crawford (Andy) of Galesburg, IL; her grandchildren, Joel (Taylor), Nathan, Jenna Calloway, Noah, Lucia and Cecilia Crawford; her great grandchild Willow Calloway; her brother-in-law Tony Habrock (Sheila Hayes); her siblings, Ed Schaefer (Phyllis) and Bev Meyer; and her brothers-in-law, Vernon Rakers and Dave Rakers (Carol).
A celebration of life will be held at a later date due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
Mom was passionate about education, in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to her grandchildren's education fund. Due to COVID-19 memorial donations can be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 301 S. Clinton, Aviston, 62216; checks payable to Erin Crawford.
