He was predeceased by: his father Lawrence "Snick"; and his siblings, Benedict "Dick" Markus, Gerald "Porky" Markus, Thomas Markus, Daniel Markus and Mary Frances Markus.
He is survived by: his brother Lawrence Markus (Marcella); and his sisters-in-law, Ceil Markus of Aviston, Ellie Markus of Aviston, Jessie Markus of Aviston, Marilyn Markus of Aviston and Carol Markus of Aviston. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jared Burke Foundation or Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois and will be received at church or Nordike Funeral Home, 150 N. Clinton St., Breese, IL 6230 who is serving the family.
