He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Penley and Lillian J. Penley; his wife Sue Barnes; and his siblings, Georgene and Larry.

He is survived by: his sons, Tim and Nathan; his daughter-in-law Carrie; his grandchildren, Sue, Michelle (Phil) and Allison; and his great grandchild Mackenzie.
