With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kayla Hathorne of Aurora, Illinois, who passed away on October 27, 2023 at the age of 20. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her grandfathers, Joe Lee Hathorne, Rodney Walker and Clarence "CJ" Jackson; her aunt Mealithea "Lisa" Ross; and her uncle Alvin Johnson.

She is survived by: her parents, Steven Hathorne (Claire) and Trina James (Corneil); her siblings, Steven Hathorne (Victoria Harkless), Kylia, DeVonte, LaMarcus and Corneil "Juice" James; her grandmothers, Ernestine "Chris" Jackson, Hilda Walker and Carrie James; her great-grandparent Louise Reaves; her godparents, Solomon and Sharicee Meeks; her cousin Angela Perry; her aunt Cherie Bess; and her pet Gucci. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins.
