He was predeceased by: his parents, Claire Brown and Donald Brown; his nephews, Mike, Jeff, Tom and Steve Orland; and his great-nephew Michael Orland.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Carpenter Brown; his children, Rodney (Elizabeth), Cathy Magee (David) of Fortville, IN, Don (Becky) of Morris, IL and Gary (Julie) of Sugar Grove, IL.; and his siblings, Joyce Orland, JanClaire Elliott and Kent Brown (Karen). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, special friends and neighbors.

Contributions in Ben's memory can be made to the Irick-Scherer Family Reunion and the Red Cloud Indian School, South Dakota.
