It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Gerold of Aurora, Illinois, born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, who passed away on September 11, 2020, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Thorn and Rose Thorn (Sullivan); her stepmother Irene Thorn; and her brother Michael Thorn. She is survived by: her husband Gregory A Gerold; her son Sean Gerold (Rachel Bauer) of Chicago; and her siblings, Richard Thorn (Alice) of Florida, William Thorn (Diane) of South Plainfield, NJ, Debbie Smith of Elizabeth, NJ, Kathy Thorn of Elizabeth, NJ and Judy Fealey (Joe) of Elizabeth, NJ. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
A memorial has been established in lieu of flowers to the Northwestern Foundation Transplant Patient and Family Assistance Fund.
