We are sad to announce that on June 7, 2023, at the age of 78, John Edward Whitson of Auburn, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leona Benbenek (Fulk) and Edward Whitson; his wife Betty Louise Goldman; his son Gregory J. Whitson; and his sister Janet Benbenek.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Leehy (Dave) of Orlando, FL, Tami Saebeler (Dominic) of Springfield, IL, Alison Jackson (Chuck) of Waverly, IL and Michele Wright (Adam) of Staunton, IL; his grandchildren, Liz, Luke Leehy, Alec, Evan Saebeler, Tyler, Reese Jackson, Sarah, Jamie and Brandon Wright; and his siblings, Jerry Whitson (Marian), Jeff Benbenek (Joyce), James Benbenek and Joy Upton.
Memorial donations may be made to the Greg Whitson Memorial Fund or Campbell Cemetery Association for maintenance.
