He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrl Ashby (Anderson) and Clarence Ashby (family: Modesto); his stepmother Ruth Ashby (Mitchell); his sister Phyllis Hopper (Ashby); and his children, Donna Elaine McBride (Ashby), David Eugene Ashby and Dana Emily Ashby.
He is survived by: his daughter Dianne Ashby; his son-in-law Jack Lockman; his granddaughters, Kerry Ray and Sarah McBride; his great grandchildren, Kelley-Marie Aubuchon, Brooke Kronenberger, Kristen Kronenberger and Rebecca McBride; his great great grandchild Mark Wieberg; and his siblings, Alan Ashby, Linda Stewart (Ashby), Joyce Ashby, Carol Nevin (Ashby) and Gary Ashby.
