He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael McNeil and Mary Welvert (Vandersnick). He is survived by: his wife Shirley McNeil of Atkinson; and his children, Marty McNeil (Cindy) of Atkinson, Mitch McNeil (Maribeth) of Atkinson and Michaela Egert (Mike) of Peoria. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Atkinson Fire and Rescue Squad.
