With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Michael Ackerman of Athens, Illinois, born in Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on October 3, 2023 at the age of 66. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father John R. Ackerman; and his sisters, Kathy Jones, Jane Ackerman and Shawna Ackerman. He is survived by: his mother Betty Ackerman (Hubbard); his children, Ashley Walk (Cade) of Pawnee, Blake Ackerman of Springfield and John "Michael" Ackerman (Meera Rajyagor) of Reston, Virginia; his siblings, Sharon Caldwell (Nik), Chris Ackerman (Jo Ellen) and Keith Ackerman (Janet); and his grandchild Ryan Cartwright.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 E. Wacker Dr. STE 1500, Chicago, Illinois 60601 or made to the charity of the donor's choice.
