He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Shearer and Joan Shearer (Homiak). He is survived by: his wife Laurie Werhane; his sons, Russell (Zen) of Springfield and Zachary Shearer of Springfield; and his brother Gary George of Ely. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
