He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Benton Etherton, Jr. and Erma Leone Sharp Etherton (Onie); his sister Betty Jesse; and his brother-in-law Bill Jesse. He is survived by: his wife Carol Sue Jesse; his children, Brandon Etherton (Samantha) of Moweaqua, IL, Karista Medler (Mike) of Assumption, IL and Kendra Jones (Cody) of Assumption, IL; his grandchildren, Morgan Hunter, Emma Jack (David), Jesse Medler, Hailey Minott (Yeager), Ty Etherton, Jerit B. Medler, Tanner Etherton and Eliot Jones; his stepgreat-granddaughter Serenity Jack; his nephew Troy Jesse (Marcella); his niece Stephanie Ferguson (Kevin); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Brenna and Carter Ferguson; his aunt Norma McPheron; and his siblings, Dean Etherton (Kathy), Jeff Etherton (Julie), Beverly Bracken (Rick) and Becky Etherton. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Glioblastoma Research Organization.
