She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Bright and Louise Bright (Ghere); her sister Nancy Baker; her children-in-law, Jerry Coartney and Rosa Carey; and her brother-in-law Craig Thornton.
She is survived by: her spouse Max Carey; her children, Mark Carey (Vivian) of Florida, Bobbi Maulding (Brian) of Cooks Mills, Debi Coartney of Ashmore and Kathy Farrell of Charleston; her siblings, Mary McGregor (Myron) of Oakland, Donna Thornton of Arcola, Louise Johnston (Vernon) of Arthur, Illinois and Harry Bright (Rita) of Mt. Zion; and her brother-in-law John Baker of Camargo. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
It is requested that donations in her honor be made to the Ashmore Volunteer Fire Department, Charleston Fire and Rescue or the Alzheimer's Association.
