He is survived by: his grandparents, Alva Walters and Rachel Walters; his spouse Luwaunna Rose Simpson; his sons, Monty Ray Walters (Connie) of Ashmore, Mark Douglas Walters (Dana) of Ashmore and Christopher Neal Walters (Judy) of Ashmore; his daughter-in-law Brenda Walters of Charleston; his grandchildren, Jason Walters (Betsy), Alisha Birch (Tony), Heather Cassady (Adam), Brent Walters (Mandi), Donald Walters (Sarah), Matt Walters (Ali), Kathleen Rachar (Teddy), Kyle Walters and Tori Campbell (Dustin); his siblings, Albert Walters (Kay) of Mattoon, Gary Walters of Cisco, Norma Schnell (Jim) of Mattoon and Helen Ayres (Jim) of Mattoon; his son Rick Walters; his sister Bev Smock; and his great grandchild Paightin Abigil Simpson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
It is requested that thoughtful donations in his honor be made to the Ashmore Baptist Church or to Hilltop Skilled Nursing and Rehab.
