He is survived by: his sons, Josh Gast of Sullivan, Jacob Gast of Sullivan and Chris Gast of Mattoon; and his siblings, Loren Gast of Mattoon, Kathy Houghland of Raymond, Becky Dossett of Toledo and Patty Lovell of Florida.
