It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bess Hannel (Ashland, Illinois), born in Triplett, Missouri, who passed away on December 11, 2019, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul "Friday" and Hazel Mae Duffield Dawson; her husband Gerald "Jerry" Hannel; and her brothers, Clinton, Bill, Dean and Joe Dawson.
She is survived by: her children, Steven Hannel of Ashland, Sharon Briggs (Rick) of Springfield, Robert Hannel (Martha) of Pleasant Plains, Cindy Hannel of Ashland and Ron Hannel (Brenda) of Dawson; and her brother Louie Dawson (Georgie) of Petersburg. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.
