He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Howell and Delores Shafer Torbeck; his wife Lori Graber of Arthur, IL; and his brother William Dean Howell (Gwen) of Mattoon, IL..

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to DMH Hospice, Decatur Hospital, or Meals on Wheels in Arthur, IL.
