He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Smeds and Lydia Smeds; and his sister Joyce Potempa. He is survived by: his wife Rita Smeds; and his grandsons, Brandon, Michael, Zachary, Lucas and Maxwell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Lung Association or National Kidney Foundation.
