He was predeceased by: his wife Frances; his parents, Julius Markman and Celia Markman; and his siblings, Florence Gold (Sidney), Selma Rubin (Fred), Ann Drucker (Stanley "Shep") and Irion "Buddy".
He is survived by: his children, Leslie Stern (Phillip), Jan Bell (John) and Tom Markman (Roberta); his grandchildren, Caryn Stern (Zach Alpert), Lauren Stern (Carl Duffield), Justin Bell (Megan), Jackson Bell (Sarah), Shalom Aba Markman (Aliza), Zeesie Mirman (Yaacov), Rena Skydell (David), Basia Markman, Eliana David (Yochanon), Yosef Chaim Markman and Tova Dena Markman; and his great grandchildren, Eytan, Lilah, Emmett, Jonah, Luke, Wyatt, Ruby, Huvi, Shaina, Eliezer, Aharon, Meir, Malkie, Miriam, Adina, Ita, Zahava, Rikki, Tzvi, Shimon and Shayna. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
