Nicki Varvisotis age 93 nee Carallis, born in Sparta, Greece. Beloved wife of the late John Varvisotis. Devoted mother of Teri "Theodora" (George) Lacon, and Diane Green. Loving YiaYia of Nicole (Tom) Hermes, Peter (Laura) Karamitos, Kenneth Green, Rasonne Green, Alexa Green, and was later blessed to see another generation of her legacy blosssom with 13 great grandchildren. Cherished daughter of the late Frank and Theodora Carallis. Dear sister of the late Harriett Papastrakos, Ann Protopappas, Peter Carallis, John Carallis, Nick Carallis and survived by Elizabeth Dongas. Beloved aunt and cousin of many. On April 17th at 10:15am an angel was called back to heaven, and although her body will no longer walk among us those who knew her felt her ethereal presence in every room she graced. In every aspect of her life Nicki Varvisotis was compassionate, generous, and impressive. Nicki was a freedom fighter during WWII and served bravely in the Greek Resistance. She worked tirelessly to help initiate the foundation of the Greek American Rehabilitation Center, Wheeling, Il. She was also a consistant volunteer at Children’s Memorial Hospital, and a dedicated member of the Spartan Society. Nicki was a gourmet cook, avid gardener, artist and accomplished seamstress. She loved crossword puzzles, reading, and lottery. Nicki always started and ended her day with a song and smile. Loved by all who were blessed to know her. So many wonderful memories. She will be missed by many but always in our hearts,
Visitation Monday April 24, 2023 at 11am at Ascension of Our Lord Greek Orthodox Church, 1207 Riverwoods Rd, Lincolnshire, IL 60069, with a service to follow at 12pm. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, IL.
