He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus Ortiz and Maria Diaz (Aurea Ortiz); his siblings, Camillo Ortiz, Pedro Ortiz, Demetrio Ortiz, Tanes Ortiz, Rafael Ortiz, Maria Ortiz and Francisca Ortiz; and his children, Juan Ortiz Jr., Roberto Ortiz, Aurea Ross, Mercedes Ortiz and Norma Ortiz.
He is survived by: his children, Carmen Ocasio (Manuel Ocasio), Miguel Ortiz and Ana Mayor. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren.
