With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Frederick Schmitt of Arlington Heights, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 10, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip Schmitt and Anna Marie Schmitt; his wife Hildegard Schmitt; and his siblings, Paul Schmitt (Mary Ann), Emily Schmitt-Schultz and Robert Schmitt.
He is survived by: his sons, Steven Schmitt (Barbara) and Martin Schmitt Sr. (Michelle); his grandsons, Martin Schmitt Jr. (Victoria) and Christopher Schmitt (Samantha); his great grandchildren, Bennett Schmitt, Maverick Schmitt and Cameron Schmitt; and his sister Margaret Hanson (Wayne).
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John the Beloved Chapel (800 W Oakton St, Arlington Heights, IL 60004). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the St Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery (1185 W Algonquin Rd, Palatine, IL 60067).
