He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank "Franciszek" Tomkiewicz and Ludmila Kolawacz; his former wife Maria Tomkiewicz; and his brother Ted Tomkiewicz (Tadeusz). He is survived by: his wife Bridget Tomkiewicz (Mulkerrin); his children, Eva Plankey (James Plankey) and John Tomkiewicz (Adrianna Tomkiewicz); his grandchildren, Susie Plankey (Eric Jensen), Michael Plankey, Peter Tomkiewicz (Donna) and Matthew Szablowski (Kaylee Vollert); his great grandchildren, Emma and Maddie Plankey; and his pets, Gus, Benson and Bentley.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Matz Mt. Prospect Funeral Chapel, Inc. (410 E Rand Rd, Mt Prospect, IL 60056). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM and from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Acacia Park Cemetery (7800 Irving Park Rd, Norridge, IL 60706).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eddie's memory to the American Cancer Society.
