Andrew T. Ganatos Obituary
Obituary | Andrew T. Ganatos | Elegy Cremation and Memorial Services 3400 West Stonegate Blvd.
At approximately 7:20 am on Thursday January 16, 2025 our world was forever changed as we lost our patriarch, Andrew T. Ganatos. During his life, he took on new roles that changed his name. Along the way, he became known as Ang, by his wife of almost 45 years Julie (Jul). Then Dad, to his children Andrew (Ashley), Lauren (Richard), Megan (Ben), and Bradley (Bridget). Finally, he became known as Grandpa to his grandchildren Isabella, Ian, Phillip, Hunter, Amelia, Andrew, Ava, Henry and Willow. Of course throughout this time he was known as Andy by his brothers and sisters and Uncle Andy to his many nieces and nephews.
We truly feel a hole in our family at this time. The love and laughter that would fill a room when we were together will be sorely missed. You could always count on him. He was there when you needed someone to listen, and then there when you needed advice. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and sharing the things he enjoyed. His greatest accomplishment in life was the family that he built, and you were able to witness the happiness that it brought him every time we were together. There will be an emptiness in our family from this day forward. His vacant chair in each room a constant reminder of what is absent. To say that he will be missed is an understatement.
All we can ask, is that when this news finds you, and you think of our dad, think of a fond memory. Think of him in a way that brings joy, because if he was here to witness our sorrow, he would simply tell us to "knock it off". There was not to be a fuss made on his account.
Although we feel his life is gone too soon, and certainly too suddenly, having him here forever would never have been long enough. We love you, rest in peace.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to the American Heart Association. Feel free to use the link provided, as two of his grandchildren are beginning their Heart Heroes fundraiser for the American Heart Association.
