He is survived by: his wife Sandra L. Schafer; his sons, Jason Emmert (Laurel) and Matthew Emmert; his grandchildren, Abigail Colmark (Brandon), Nathan Emmert and Jared Emmert; and his sister Barbara Homan (Junior). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
