It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merle Elmer Lovekamp of Arenzville, Illinois, born in Jacksonville, Illinois, who passed away on January 11, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Lovekamp and Anna Roegge Lovekamp; his grandsons, Andy and Zach Meyer; and his sisters, Marian Gaertner, Lucille Burrus, Jeane Burrus and Lois Stock.
He is survived by: his wife Kate Lovekamp of Arenzville; his children, Susie Meyer (Mike) of Jacksonville, Vicki Meyer of Peoria, Jill Schnitker (Kevin) of Holland, IN, Scott Lovekamp (Karyn) of Wesley Chapel, FL and Bruce Lovekamp (Penny) of Arenzville; and his grandchildren, Jenna Crabtree (Bryan), Cara Strubbe (Kirk), Adam Meyer (Christy), Aaron Meyer (Stacey), Joe Meyer (Angie), Josh Meyer (Stacy), Crystal Guarnieri (Matt), Tyson Schnitker (Joanna), Trenton Lovekamp (Debbie), Jordan Lovekamp (Mariela) and Brooke Lovekamp. He is also survived by 24 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to United Adrenoleukodystrophy Foundation or Alzheimer's Association.
