He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward "Pete" Wessler and Marcella Zulauf Wessler; his wife Shirlee A. Rowden; and his sisters, Rosalie Schone (late Melvin) and Pamela Sue Costello.

He is survived by: his sons, Jeff Wessler (Gale) of Arenzville and Jay Wessler (Shelley) of Concord; his grandchildren, Jaclynn Shoufler (Clay) of Williamsville, Abigail Miller (Ryan) of Concord, Alison Meyer (Meredith) of Concord, A. J. and Pete Wessler (Kelley) of Concord; his great grandchildren, Anna, Sam, Clara, Wesley, Blake, Isabelle, Gavin, Eli, Grant, Ben, Leah, Nolan, Owen, Avery, Norah and Molly; and his sister Kay Lippert (Dick) of Arenzville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church.
