He is survived by: his mother Kay Shonkwiler (Gamble) of Arcola, IL; his children, Jeremy Shonkwiler (Stacy) of Arcola, IL, Courtney Shonkwiler (Chris Klapperich) of Arcola, IL and Dr. Ryan Shonkwiler; his grandchildren, Brock, Braden Shonkwiler, Lola, Madilyn, Oliver, Ozcar Shonkwiler, Carter and Lanie Klapperich; and his siblings, Cindy Arthur (Bart) of Galesburg, IL and Rick Shonkwiler (Janice) of Arcola, IL..

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Christian Church (311 E Main St, Arcola, IL 61910). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
