He was predeceased by: his parents, Owen Ellsworth and Ada Myrtle Brooks (Thomas); his sister Kathryn White of Nashville, Tenn.; his grandson Andrew Robert Benner; his sister Ruth; his brother-in-law Glen Gorman; his brother Maurice Brooks; and his sister-in-law Anita Brooks.
He is survived by: his wife Roseann Benefiel; his children, Karen Brooks Benner (Kenny) of Tuscola, Jeff Brooks (Geri) of Lincoln, Sheryl Morris of Tuscola and Jim Brooks (LaDonna) of Richmond Heights; his grandchildren, Amelia Benner (Jerry Nowicki) of Springfield, Lily Benner (Marcel Tran) of Plano, Texas, Elizabeth Bruns (Justin) of Port Byron, John Brooks (Deana) of Lincoln, Kelli Hilgendorf (Taylor) of Jacksonville, Nathan Bartley of Tuscola, Kyle Morris (Caitlin) of Homer, Abby Brooks of St. Louis Park, Minn. and Luke Brooks (Chandler) of Tulsa, Okla.; his great grandchildren, Anna Marie Brooks, Tobias Dean Brooks of Lincoln, Ty Brooks Hilgendorf, Ada Jay Hilgendorf of Jacksonville and Eleanor Rose Nowicki of Springfield; his brother Bob Brooks; and his sister-in-law Janet Brooks of Newton.
