He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold George and Edna Louella Gray Curtis; his daughter Julie Curtis; his siblings, Buddy, Dick, Jack, Gerald Curtis and Rosemary Thomason; and his nephew Curt Thomason.
He is survived by: his wife Valerie of Arcola; his son Mark Curtis of Charleston; his stepdaughter April Whitney (Tony) of Champaign; his grandchildren, Curtis Uphoff of Mattoon and McKenzie Brown (Javon) of Colorado Springs; and his great grandchildren, Landon Uphoff of Mattoon and Kanoa Brown of Colorado Springs.
