We are sad to announce that on September 6, 2023, at the age of 91, Dorothy Vay Jones of Arcola, Illinois, born in Martinsville, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Curtis Williamson and Inez Williamson (Davis); her children, Sonny Jones, Randy Jones, Beth Jones and Gina Sue Jones; her grandson Jeffrey Neil Whipple; and her sisters, Edith McClendon and Clara McNally.
She is survived by: her husband John Charles Jones of Arcola, IL; her children, Wilma Roberts of Arcola, IL, Christina Whipple of Tuscola, IL, Carol Blakley (Jerry) of California, Casey Jones (Dawn) of Dixon, IL and Carolyn Gallagher (Paul) of Iowa; her daughters-in-law, Rosie Jones of Washington and Ginger Jones of Washington; her siblings, Curtis Clay Williamson (Diane) of Fayetteville, GA and Barbara Ann; and her brother-in-law Hoyt McClendon of Florida. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Arcola Library or the Douglas County Animal Shelter or the Coles County Animal Shelter.
