He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Stepanek and Emily Stepanek; his wife Betty Ann; and his brothers, Laddie and Jerry Stepanek.

He is survived by: his children, Joseph Stepanek, Cathleen Rehr (Keith) and Joann Gottermeyer (Bruce). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.

In Joseph's honor, memorial donations can be made to the Antioch Senior Center, 817 Holbek Dr, Antioch, IL 60002.
