He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert and Bertha; his wife Susan; his daughter Kathleen; and his sisters-in-law, Dale Paarlberg and Linda Paarlberg.
He is survived by: his children, Tim Vander Meer (Tina), Tammy Taylor (Lee) and Tom Vander Meer (Lisa); his grandchildren, Tyler Vander Meer (Ellen), Mary Mathews (Dallas), Justin Vander Meer (Katie), Devon Vander Meer and Zak Gibson; his great grandchildren, Beau, Georgia Mathews and Jackson Vander Meer; his sister Jane Goldsworthy (Howard); and his brothers-in-law, John Paarlberg and Robert Paarlberg. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
