He was predeceased by: his father James VanHyfte; his brother Paul; and his mother-in-law Bonnie Franklin. He is survived by: his mother Carole VanHyfte (Jones) of Geneseo, IL; his wife Erica Franklin; his daughters, Valerie VanHyfte of Kewanee and Lydia Schoen (Scott) of Princeton; his stepchildren, Brittyn Klaman (Emilie) of St. Anne and Xander Bremer of Annawan; his grandson Lincoln Wade Schoen; his sister Heather Wellman (Jeff) of Waco, NE; his nephews, Drew and Jack Wellman of Waco, NE; his father-in-law Wendell Franklin of Milford, IL; and his pets, Gracie and Franklin. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Mark VanHyfte Memorial Fund.
