He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Nelms and Nina Nelms (Arnett); and his siblings, Joyce Perrine, Robert and Rodney Nelms.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Nelms of Annawan; his children, Mark Nelms of Plainview, TX, Shelly Dynes (Martin) of Annawan and Chris DeReu (Craig) of Annawan; his brother Don Nelms of Rock Falls; his grandchildren, Kala, Joel, Riley (Sarah), Taylor, Tory (Matt) and Dusty (Kasey); and his great grandchildren, Jaxon, Fen and Brighton.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Lyle's name to Annawan-Alba Fire Department or Henry Co. Rebuilding Together.
