He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Gibbs and Lena Gibbs (Brunner); his daughter Renee Solomon; and his siblings, Paul Gibbs, Charlie Gibbs, Lorene Benedette and Mildred Dillow.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Gibbs of Anna; his children, Cassie Heern (Chris Campbell) of Jonesboro and Jesse Gibbs of Anna; his grandchildren, Mark, Chase, Macey Heern and Tanner Solomon; and his sisters, Mary Richardson (Jerry) of Anna and Delores Barton (Doug) of Chicago. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
